Running around...

Today was a day where we did lots of little things and I've felt like we've been going non-stop since last night! :) Some of the 2nd shift co-workers at Mike's work had a BBQ starting at 11:30 pm. Yep...starting at 11:30 PM because they don't get off shift until then. So we headed over there and had a blast catching up/talking/joking around with about 6 others coworkers. We headed home around 2:45 am or so. I am definitely feeling it today. We woke up around 8 am and had to get the house ready for someone to come look at it. Mike cut some tree branches off and then took Jack to his parents house while I finished mopping the floor and sweeping and then we headed to Warrenton (about an hour away) to meet Ryan and Heather and the kiddos for lunch. They were both so kind to come and meet us and bring the 25 dvd's of a slideshow that I am giving my students as a graduation gift. I am so thankful that he can do that! :) Then we headed over to a friend's house whose son was having a graduation party and now we are getting ready to watch a movie and relax! Hope you have a great weekend~
Can you believe how fast May went by and that June 1st is tomorrow!?
Also, Happy Anniversary Ryan and Heather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Splish Splash!

Today was our Field Day at school and the kids absolutely loved it! The games and activities are so fun and almost all of them revolve around water. They were so excited to be playing outside in the beautiful weather today! It was gorgeous! We took it easy this afternoon and watched The Bee Movie. That was pretty good and a great way to unwind from the crazy morning. :)

A.I.

Lina reminded me that I never did post about the finale of American Idol. I was pretty happy about David Cook winning. I did like David Archuleta better, but I know he will probably get a record deal too. My students voted and they also thought that David Cook was going to win with a 72% advantage over David A. :)

Hump Day!

Wow! I can't believe tomorrow is already Wednesday! Having Memorial Day off really has made this week fly by. We have 5 more days of school and I'm getting a little sad. :( I've had most of these students for the past 2 years and they are a great bunch of kids. Their parents are amazing as well and have done so much for me and our classroom. (Last year they even coordinated 2 weeks worth of food/delivery each night when I had my surgery). I am going to miss this group! Hopefully I'll be able to hold it together on the last day of school and their graduation....we'll see!

Vroom....

We decided this weekend to get the Ford Escape since the Focus is totaled from the deer accident. It is a 2006 with about 40,000 miles and I love it! Mike and I picked it out yesterday and drove it over to my surprise party... Here are a few pictures. Enjoy!

Head on over...

Go on over to Heather's blog to read more about my birthday surprise! :) Click here...

Surprise!

I was completely surprised last night when Mike and I walked into Heather and Ryan's house and there was so many of my friends! Heather planned this amazing surprise birthday party for me. My parents, Melanie and Kyle, Steven, Erin and Mike and Yuri, and the Morrisons all were there to celebrate my 29th. I still can't believe that they got me...all the secrets and phone calls. Man, I would have thought I would know when these things happen! But, I guess that's why it's called a surprise! :) We had a great time and played games, and ate some yummy food, and had fun enjoying the good evening weather. It was great and I am so thankful that so many of our friends could come hang out, especially on Memorial Day weekend. Thank you to all of you!

Wow...

For some reason, I still can't believe that today is my birthday. It just doesn't seem real yet! I had always thought 30 was old and that's where I'll be next year. It just seems crazy because now I don't think 30 sounds old! I don't feel that old, even though my body/legs/back are all wearing down already and that feels old, but inside my heart I don't feel old yet. I had always pictured my life and thought I had some of it planned out, but I guess I don't yet. I had always thought that I would have at least 2 kids by the time I was 28...well, that didn't happen yet. But I DO have so much to be thankful for. I have a great husband, great friends and family, and other than hitting deer every 6 months, I am pretty healthy! I am so thankful for all the blog friends I've made on this wonderful writing journey! I appreciate every one of you! :) I am so excited to be able to go to St. Louis this weekend to see the Morrisons, and my family! Hopefully I'll be able to go by and see Kelli and Kris's grass that they put in and my parents, brother, and grandmas'. Here is a fun picture tonight that we took with our good friends Kayla and Flip. I can't believe I'm 29...wow! :)

Happy Bday to me!

I can't believe today is my birthday! 29 years ago I was born at 3:10 in the afternoon. My mom went into labor the previous night during my dad's softball game. My mom had to wait until the game was over before my dad would leave to take her to the hospital. They went home, my mom showered and shaved and then my dad wanted to stop at Steak and Shake before getting to the hospital. They arrived around midnight at the hospital and I arrived a mere 13 hours later. I was 5 lbs. 9 oz. and 21 inches long. Thank you for those that have sent birthday wishes my way! I appreciate it!

Field Trip Day!

Today was our Reading Club day field trip to Mizzou. The kids have earned this all year by reading Mark Twain award books and completing reports. They were super excited to see Mike working, he even got to get away and eat lunch with us while on duty! We listened to story tellers and heard some great authors. They ate lunch at the "cool" college campus and were very well behaved. I had a great time and I know they did too! Here are a few pics from today!

This last pictures of some of my kiddos in the back of Mike's patrol car. I told them I better never see them in the back of one again! ha!

Thank you!

Thank you for all the well wishes! Mike and I are both doing okay....very sore still and that will probably last awhile. Here's what I'm driving while we wait to hear if they are going to fix it or if it is totalled. Happy Monday!

What are the odds?

Our night started off so nice. Mike surprised me with my birthday present early since we are both superbusy this week. He got me my very own Garmin and I love it! He told me to put in an address and that's where we were heading to dinner. We show up a this great restaurant about 3o minutes away in Fayette and "surprise!" Mike's parents, Dave and Sarah were already there! I was completely shocked. I couldn't believe that Mike pulled this off! They had this great white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and it was delicious. We had a great dinner and were on our way home, traveling over 70 mph on hwy 63, and BAM....another deer hits us. This time, it almost comes in the windshield. Mike pulls over, my ears and head is ringing and he is asking if I am okay. Mike has bits of glass all over and it's on our feet, the back seat, everywhere. I can't believe that we came out okay from this. Both of our backs hurt and we are sore, but otherwise we are pretty lucky. You might remember our other deer accident...click here if you need a reminder. We talked to the highway patrol and they said it was a pretty big deer and that its head was completely knocked off. Gross...We waited for the tow truck to take the car away and Mike's parents dropped us off at home. So much for a relaxing night. I think it's time to trade this car in! We are dealing with insurance and getting a rental car tomorrow and to going to church to pray! Thank God we were okay and not injured too bad. Have a great night! We're off to bed....

Answer to guess what it is question...

Some of you guessed what the present might be that my parents got me. Remember? Heather was the one that guessed a bike and she is correct! Since my legs and back are messed up still and I definitely need to get in shape, they got me a recumbant bike. Mike still needs to put it together, so hopefully soon I can start using it! Thanks to all who played! It was fun seeing everyone's answers! :)

Alice in Oz

The 5th grade students performed Alice in Oz for this years play and it was amazing! They did such a great job and worked so hard. I am so proud of them and I'm going to miss this class so much. I can't believe there are only 11 days of school left! Wow!
