22 months and 33 weeks

22 months

Dear Evan,
I can't believe that in 2 months you will be 2. Time is sure flying by! You are getting more independent, definitely testing your boundaries, and learning something new every single day. We've bought a potty seat and so far it's just a toy to you. Hopefully in the next few months you won't want to keep ripping off the seat and playing with it. :) You are becoming a picky eater...no more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, noodles, or chicken. You will eat chicken nuggets occasionally but only if you have "dip". Yes, ketchup is definitely becoming a staple in our house to get you to eat anything. You still do love fruit and veggies, so that is a plus. Meat...not so much. Hopefully you'll grow out of this soon to get some meat on those skinny bones of yours! We took you to the doctor yesterday and found out that you have a sinus infection, tons of drainage, and definitely have allergies. You will be getting allergy tested in June, after you turn 2. Hopefully this will give us some answers. You are in love with Buzz and Woody still, which will be your birthday "theme" this year. You love looking and touching mommy's belly and saying "baby". Sometimes you even give it a kiss! :) You love to go for a "ride" and "walk". These are two common words that come out of your mouth all day long. It's hilarious to hear you call us "mom" and "dad" instead of mommy and daddy. You are sounding so grown up! You weigh 28 pounds, size 8 shoes, 2T pants which are still too big in the waist, and most of your shirts are 2T but some are 3T. You are a tall one! :) I am so excited to see you become a big brother. You are so special and mom and dad love you SO much.
Love,
mommy

33 weeks

Dear Baby,

I can't believe in about 6-7 weeks we will finally get to meet you. I am so sorry you don't have a name yet! Hopefully in the next couple of weeks your daddy and I can narrow it down. You love to kick and poke me at all hours of the night, which explains why sleep is hard to come by. For example, last night, I think I finally fell asleep after 11, after tossing and turning and not getting comfortable for hours. I'm hoping the bigger you and I get, the easier it will be, but knowing that is very unlikely! ;) You have also started to give me tons of heartburn, so I wonder if you will have a head of hair just like your brother. Your room is almost ready and this week we will be washing all of the newborn clothes to put in your dresser. The pack and play is getting cleaned soon and we have the perfect spot in our room for it. We are so excited to meet you! We love you...love, mommy, daddy, and your big brother, Evan

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

too cold...

Even though it's been a little too cold (seriously.....snow last weekend!) to bust out the sand and water table that Evan got for his birthday last year, it was fun to throw some towels on the floor and let him play with the water inside. He loves it! And the splashing was surprisingly kept to a minimum!

Highs and Lows of the Weekend...

High: In St. Louis for the Mohr Mini Sessions and pictures by Fresh Art Photography. Thanks Mom for going with E and I. I'm so excited to see the final result...which leads me to my low...
Low: Not the most cooperative almost 2 year old. Trying to get pictures of him sitting or even staying still for that matter in 20 minutes was hard. Ugh...but I know they'll turn out great :)

High: Hopefully the last snowfall of the year. 5 inches in St. Louis while we were there...
Low: Driving was awful, so E and I spent the night instead of driving back to see Mike Sat. night.

High: Relaxing with my 2 boys this Sunday
Low: Driving back from St. Louis and E throwing up...

High: Spring Break all week!
Low: Mike still having to work :(

Hope you had a great weekend!

my new favorite...

32 weeks!

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

32 weeks!
Went to the doctor yesterday and everything is going well. :) Baby's heartbeat was 159 and he is head down.

Here is a picture that I took yesterday...

And this picture was with Evan at 32 weeks!

I should've put on the same shirt ;) Oh well!

surprise!

We had an 80th birthday surprise birthday party for my grandma on Sunday. It was a gorgeous, almost 80* day, and the kids had a blast running around outside with each other. It was nice to be able to catch up with my cousins and see my aunts and uncles too.

Disney on Ice

Saturday we went to Disney on Ice with my mom, sister, and the Malones. We had such a great time and Evan did really well considering it was about an hour and 45 minute show. I think his favorite part was the huge Peter Pan alligator and the bubbles from the Little Mermaid! :) Thanks Mom for the tickets!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Did you remember to wear green today??? We sure did!
We had a great day today and I hope you did too. We met Mike for lunch, played outside in the 75* weather, and now E is sleeping and I'm packing for our trip to St. Louis this weekend. Good times! :)

Apparently the sun was a little bright and what a nice fake smile! ha!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Bath time fun

I saw this on Meet the Dubiens and thought this would be something fun to do.
Evan only tried to eat the shaving cream once, so I think it was successful! :) We did have to drain the tub and give him another bath, but it was totally worth it. He had fun!

Perfect Park Day

We had a great day hanging out in the 65* weather after E's nap. We went to a local park, came home and went on a walk, and played in the yard. I think I'm even more excited for 75* weather tomorrow on St. Patrick's Day!!!! Don't forget to wear your green! Also, Happy Happy Birthday to my Grandma Fergy...we love you!

Always has to have something in his hand...he wouldn't let this rock and stick go most of the afternoon!

Still snow from earlier this week! Crazy! :)
