ugh!

I am so annoyed and disappointed today. My ovulation kit turned positive today, so I called the doctor to schedule an appointment for Mike to go in and do his thing (which, the place Mike goes isn't affiliated with my doctor's office and they are really snobby). Anyway, Mike is in a mandatory training in Jeff City for crime scene investigators and has a lunch from 11:30-1pm. I called, hoping to get him scheduled between that time. They said the only time they had available was 1:30. That is not going to work...I tried again and said maybe sometime tomorrow afternoon and they said they don't have make appointments for Friday afternoons. Geez! My doctor tried to help us out, but couldn't do anything. I am so annoyed! The part that makes me the most mad is that you know they don't have appointments during that time....it is their lunch break and NO one wants to be a nice human being to help someone out. Man, they are selfish! That place is the only place in town that will get male sperm washed and ready for the IUI. So...needless to say we'll try the regular way this month, without the IUI, to see if that works to have a baby....I'll keep you posted.

Rain, Rain

Seriously! Stop raining! I only have a few more weeks of my summer break and I want to spend it out in the sunshine...so stop the rain please :)

Memory Lane

I've been on facebook for awhile now and it's always interesting to "find" old friends. It brings back LOTS of great memories and it is fun to see where these friends are now. Lately I've been finding lots of friends from college at Florida International University and wanted to post some pictures from that time. It is pretty funny to see how much has changed in less than 10 years. Wow!
Getting ready to go to Club 609

Show me...

There's nothing better than a sunshiny day filled with green grass and soccer. This past weekend was the soccer Show-Me-State Games and we had two friends come into town to hang at our place while the tournament was going on. The Crowders and The Malones hung out with us and made it to the semi finals where they lost 2-1...and boy was it HOT! I think they were kind of glad that they lost and didn't have to play any more games in the hot sun. We had a great time with them in town and were even more excited because Yuri took her 1st steps across our living room floor! Woohoo! :) Hope your weekend went well and the week is starting off on the right foot!

Apology

  • Dear Mike,
  • I am SO sorry for being an absolute irate not nice person this past week. Clomid did not fare well for my emotional state and everything you did seemed to make it worse. I apologize for disagreeing with everything you said or did and making your life not very fun this past week. The good news is that hopefully our 4th IUI will work this week and I won't have to go on that again...or until we are ready for another baby! ;) Love you...

  • For your readers who don't know what I am talking about...This was the 1st time I was on Clomid; the fertility drug and seriously, it messed with me big time. I was very hormonal and emotional and agitated with everything! Mike got the worst of it.....oops! Hopefully our 4th IUI will work this week and we'll have some good news. Send good thoughts and prayers our way this week!!! Thanks!!

Friends

Krista and I have been friends for as long as I can remember...I think since Kindergarten. Anyway, we've hardly had a chance to see each other hang out since high school. She came to our wedding and my 25th birthday party, but we've both been so busy living our lives, that time has just passed. I am SO glad that we've finally gotten back in touch with each other and have caught each other up about what has been going on in our lives. Yesterday, we met in Warrenton to catch up, grab some lunch and reminisce. It was awesome! It has felt like no time has passed between us and that is the best kind of friendship...the kind where you feel connected no matter how much time has passed or what's been going on. I love that. Krista and I had a great time yesterday...we were loud and laughing and just enjoying our friendship. She is going to kill me for posting some of our pictures from WAY back in the day...but they are hilarious!! ha! It seems that in every picture, I am always on the right and Krista on the left! :)

All in...

That seemed to be the theme last night of our poker night. "All in" We went back and forth all night trying to out bid, out think, and out maneuver each other. In the end...I was the first one out, of course. Mike ended up giving me some of his chips so I could continue to play. The funniest part of the night was on one flop there was a 9, 2, 3, 4 and a jack. Melanie, Dave, and Mike were still in and they all 3 were all in. They turned their cards over and each person had a 9 and a high card. Dave had an ace, 9; Melanie had a queen, 9; and Mike had a king, 9. It was pretty funny watching the hand play out because they all thought they had it in the bag. I can't wait to play again...and not lose this time! ha! :)

5 things...

5 things I am thankful for today...

  1. Friends who call out of the blue
  2. That I didn't have to decide today if I needed to have my 2nd back surgery
  3. The house is clean
  4. My camera that was broke and shipped to Canon to get fixed, is back...and working! woohoo!
  5. I am almost finished with the 3rd book in the Twilight series

What are you thankful for???

Tech Support?!

Got this from my aunt and thought it was pretty good! :)
INSTALLING A HUSBAND
Dear Tech Support,
  • Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

  • In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NASCAR 6.0, NFL 5.1 and Golf Clubs 4.1.
  • Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

  • Signed, Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE,

  • First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.HTML and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

  • However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

  • Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install M-I-L 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.) In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

  • In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

  • Sincerely, Tech Support

Beginning and End

Beginning of Day: Started by going to the doctor so he could test the nerves in my legs. Not my idea of fun. They started off by shocking me in different spots in the lower legs and feet. It seriously made me think of the part in thebeginning of Ghostbusters where Bill Murray's character was shocking the man with the cards. It made me very jumpy! The next part was the worst though. They have to stick needles in me...5 times....in each leg (3 lower leg muscles, my quad, and hip) and THEN move it around. It was awful. I felt like such a baby because I was crying and seriously couldn't stop. The thing that did make me feel better (besides the test being over) was that they said the biggest criers were big ol' football players. ha! Below is a picture (from yahoo)of the shock test they do ....it's not my foot ;)

End of Day: I met up with some great friends, whom I taught with, to catch up and hear how their summer is going. They are all going to be at different schools next year. :( We met at Heidelberg which has a great happy hour and 1/2 price appetizers. It is SO great to have amazing friends!

Tuesday Thoughts

  • Why does it always have to rain when Mike is supposed to mow the lawn??? Hmmm... It's been thundering and pouring rain all night. It's the kind of low rumble thunder with occasional crackling and every time we have a huge storm our backyard has a river running through it. This of course, gets Jack soaked and muddy....not very fun to clean.

  • Why didn't I think of doing this earlier? I seriously love making these diaper cakes....I have another baby shower to go to in August for a friend and thought I'd make another cake!Don't you just want to eat it up! :)

I have issues...

Seriously...once I get started on a new book, I. can't. put. it. down! argh! I started reading Twilight last night at 11:00 pm after finishing another diaper cake, for another friend. Mike got off work around 1:30 am, and I was still reading. Huge thunderstorms came into town last night (and still going on...more about that later) lightning and crackling thunder continued to make me jump and that fits in nicely with this book, but I kept reading. :) I finally finished reading this 500 page book at 4 am! 4 am people! I seriously have issues! It's early and I'm tired, but I want to start book #2. I'm insane! ha!

STL Pics

Since I didn't make it into St. Louis this past weekend to see my family and celebrate my Grandma's birthday or see my aunt and uncle from Texas, I thought I would post some pics here my mom sent me. :) I love my family!

I made my Grandma a shutterfly book for her birthday...very cute! Look how young we were on the cover! ha! :)

My mom is on the left with 3 of her sisters. This was the first time her mom (my grandma) has been to a Cardinal game! She loved it and even wore her rally cap to help them win!

This is my Aunt Barbara and Uncle Mark from Texas. :)

Kelli and Dad smiling for the camera!

Monday, Monday...

So Mike went back to work today and I'm bored! I ran a couple of errands and I'm getting ready to get a couple of baby gifts for a shower we have coming up in August. I'm really into making these baby diaper cakes lately. Once it is finished, I will have to post some pictures! Maybe I can go into business doing these! Here is one sample that I finished last week (it is for one of Mike's coworker's wife) so...Melanie if you are reading this...STOP! ha! Hope your week is starting off well!

Re-arrangin'

I am so excited!!! I talked Mike into rearranging our living room yesterday and it looks so much better! We moved the 9 shelf bookshelf downstairs (I'll get pics once it's finished) and moved the armoire tv stand to the other wall. We switched the couches/chair around and I'm so impressed! The hard part was getting the tv cable drilled through the floor to connect it downstairs...after some maneuvering, we got it hooked up. Our new purchase (from the stimilus check) was the console table. This is on the wall where the tv was...it's not totally done yet with decorations, but you get the idea.

Here is the before...
And here is the after! I love it!

Here is our new console table...that I put together myself! Mike only helped a little :)

Top 5

Top 5 reasons I like today...

  1. Laundry is finished from our trip!
  2. It is a beautiful day outside
  3. Mike, Jack and I have been hanging out all day
  4. Dinner is cooking for tonight...woohoo!
  5. Vantage Point is waiting for us to watch tonight

What do you like about today?

We're home....and busy! :)

Mike and I got home yesterday afternoon after picking Jack up at my parents house. Jack was zonked out the rest of the day! He always has such a good time at their house...lots of spoiling! After unpacking, I went to a birthday party. A.M. was a student I had last year and her and her family invited me since there was 10 other students in my class there too. I had such a great time. B and K did such a great job for their daughter's birthday party. They decorated shirts (party favors) while waiting for the rest of the kids to get there. Then we ate delicious bbq. They did a scavenger hunt around their property looking for clues and then they had to put the words together in a paragraph to make it make sense. They bobbed for apples, had a kickball game, and a silly string tag game! It was a lot of fun! We had cake and ice cream and then watched her open presents. It was a very fun filled 2 and a half hours! :) After I left there, Mike's work buddies started a volleyball team, so we headed over there for a double header. They won the first game and lost the second. It was a great night so we stayed on the patio playing washers and then a couple of games of pool until 1:30 am.... Here are some pics from the birthday party...
A.M.'s mom told me that A. now loves kickball because we played it so much during the last two years. We played it for rewards, at the end of the year, and just as a surprise throughout the years. I am so excited that she has such a great memory from playing with her classmates. Her mom said she has gained so much confidence from playing!

Looking for clues...

Bobbin' for apples

Silly string tag! This was SO much fun!
