Branson...

We spent two days in Branson with Mike's parents and packed a bunch in those two days.
At the end of February, an EF2 tornado struck part of Branson. A month later, there was still plenty of damage to businesses and parts of buildings. Thankfully, no one was killed when the tornado passed through and everything we wanted to do was open.
Stay tuned to hear about Dixie Stampede, Silver Dollar City, roller coasters and my sunglasses!

Date 3 of 12

So excited we got our March date in (just in the nick of time, since tomorrow is April 1st!) :)
We got back from our spring break vacation, called our friend and babysitter, Erica, and she came over to watch the boys so we could make the 1:30 matinee. So thankful for her!

Seriously...this movie was so great! (Of course, the book was better in my opinion, but the movie was outstanding. I thought the characters were cast perfectly and I can't wait for the second movie. So excited that we are three for three for our dates! 9 more to go...our April one is going to be good too...stay tuned!

And in case you missed our Jan. and Feb. dates here's a recap!
January Bowling (and also our 1st Jan Movie date)
February Fox Theater: West Side Story

Beginning of Spring Break

Friday we left Iowa and drove to St. Louis to hang out with my family and see some friends. We had a quick trip (Fri afternoon-Sunday morning), but packed in a ton of fun things!

If you are in St. Louis you also need to head to Suson Park. We headed there after lunch and had such a great time. The weather couldn't have been more gorgeous. We saw horses, cows, pigs, sheep and had fun at the playground too. Such a great time...

We also had a blast (and didn't come in last!) at our friends, the Malones, school trivia night to help benefit South City Preparatory Academy. We had so much fun thinking we were smart! ha!

And we got to Jack!!! Had so much fun playing catch with him. :)

Grandma Harmon

We were up in Iowa Wed-Fri saying goodbye to Mike's Grandma Harmon. She passed away at the age of 96 on Friday, March 16th.

Jean, a twin, was born in Nevada, Iowa, on October 28, 1915, the daughter of Gilbert and Clara (Corbin) Pierce. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1933. On May 7, 1935, Jean married James "Jim" Harmon. Jean was a farmer's wife and helped Jim with most tasks on the farm including the livestock, harvest, and making sure the fields were free of weeds. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting and playing card games and Scrabble. She also enjoyed quilting, mushroom hunting, and reading, including reading the entire Holy Bible. Jean and Jim were world travelers. Their trips took them to most of the 50 states, Canada, Mexico, the Holy Land, Egypt, China, and many European countries.

Those left to cherish Jean's memory are her sons, Jerry (Joyce) Harmon of Maxwell and Richard (Dick) Harmon of Mingo and his friend, Linda German from Adel; daughters, Linda (Harold) Laughlin of Columbia, Missouri and Patty (Jim) Titus of Eldora; ten grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband (of almost 75 years!); one son; two brothers; three sisters, and one grandson.

 Great Grandma and Evan
 Great Grandma and Alex

Having to say goodbye is hard, but we know we'll see her again in heaven. It was fun to be able to catch up and see family and hang out with the Indy Laughlins too! And as Evan says, "play with my tou-zins."
