Friends...

This has been a friend kind of week! We headed to see the Morrisons, Malones, and the Smiths for the day on Tuesday. Laura and Geoffrey were also supposed to come with their girls, but Maddie wasn't feeling too hot. :( We mostly hung out around the house watching the kids play. There was an attempt to head to the pool, but about 5 minutes into the swim it started pouring rain! We think that was because Malone was there... ;) We had an amazing dinner and some good conversations between all the playing, yelling, and crying! :)

Our attempt at a group shot...poor Tatum was napping!
Tatum and Evan meeting for the first time...clearly they are in love! They can't stop looking at each other! ha!
Tatum: "I'm gonna get you!" Evan: umm....
"What is she doing?! Her smile might be bigger than mine!"
Just kiddin'...I like her! :)

say cheese...

We had some good friends in town this weekend (The Malones, Malones, and Powells) for the Show Me State games and had a great lunch of Shakespeare's on Sunday. We decided to head over to the columns on campus to take some pictures of all of us and the kiddos. A total of 9 adults and 7 kids....not a small feat to try and take a picture, but we did it!!!

take 1...
take 2...
take 3...
This is as good as I could get...they are all semi-looking. I think that's pretty good!
Us adults weren't much better... ;) Take 1
Take 2...
Woohoo! We did it! Everyone was looking! :) I think it would be cool if we could do this every year to see how much we've grown and changed. :)

rollin' rollin' rollin'

Saturday Evan was having tummy time at the hotel and decided that he wanted to roll over! He was pushing up on his arms and then just did it...he was so shocked and his eyes were so wide. Way to go buddy!

Month 2 picture

Here is the 1st month picture!
He is doing so well and holding his head up more and just growing every day! Time does go by too fast.

I oh wah...

Mike, Evan and I took a quick trip up to Iowa Friday night/Saturday for another baby shower for Evan. We got to see his side of the family and show off Evan so it was really great that most family members were there. We had some great conversations and were again overwhelmed with gifts. Evan was sick of being in the car though on the way home...I guess being stuck in his seat for 10+ hours within a 24 hour time frame was just too much. We definitely heard a lot of "wahing!" We were glad that Evan got to meet his great grandparents though and had a good time. Here are a some pics...

Nicole was in town too! :)

Congrats Heather!

Heather was one of the picks in last week's I heart faces contest (scroll to the bottom of the link to see her great shot)...except last week's theme was feet! Congrats Heather! I love the picture that you took! Head on over to either link to see the "pick of the week".

the collar

This was the collared shirt/outfit you were going to wear to your shower in Iowa, but you apparently wanted to wear something different, which is why I'm assuming you spit up all over it! :) You are so stinkin' cute though!

Evan and Kye

We finally got to meet baby Kye! :) He is adorable! Here is our attempt at their photo shoot. Evan and Kye are about 6 weeks apart and already great buds!

"hey look over there!" "ok!"
Kye showing off his muscles and Evan showing "how big" he is...
Hmmm...who are you!?
Kye taking aim at Evan's ear...
Evan getting him back at Kye jabbing his mouth...
Awww...friends!

smiles and our week...

Evan had a great week this week with lots of family and friends. I had the week long Missouri Writing project class and even though it was every day for a week, I did earn three credit hours for my masters and had a great time writing! My sister, my friend Kayla, my mom and Mike's mom all took turns watching Evan for the day. I can say Evan did great and yes, I missed him, but I knew he would be in great hands every day. He ate, slept, and laughed...and cried some, but had a great time I'm sure seeing a different face other than mine and his dads! I sure did miss him and I'm SO glad I don't have to go back to work and can see him all the time. Here are a few pictures from his week so far....tomorrow we are headed up to Iowa to see Mike's side of the family after a quick run to the doctor to see about his coughing...yes, he is still coughing and congested :( Hopefully that will be quick and then we'll be off. We'll be back Saturday night and the Malones will be staying with us this weekend. So excited to see them and baby Kye! :) Here are a few shots from this week... Gotta love that smile! :)

Similar?

Still waiting on some of Mike's baby pictures, but I think Evan has my smile! :) What do you think?

Neighbors

Funny story....We have been living in our house for almost four years now. Mike and I haven't really met any of our neighbors...they are all a lot older and we haven't made it a point to get to know them. My mom is here for a couple of days watching Evan while I am finishing up my masters class for the summer. I put Evan down this evening and as soon as I did, the doorbell rang. I went to get it and two people were standing there and introduced themselves as our neighbors that live behind us. They asked if my mom was home which I thought was weird, but I yelled into the kitchen for my mom to come out. They introduced themselves to her and said they were having a "get to know your neighbor" bbq on Sunday afternoon and they would love for her to drop by. My mom said, well, I don't actually live here, my daughter and her husband do. The neighbor was in disbelief that I was the owner, was married, and had a 2 month old! She said I looked about 15~ Anyway, she apologized and then invited us over for Sunday. My mom and I just laughed and laughed as they left. I guess it is good that my mom and I look young! :) ha!

My writing day...

Today in my week long writing class we got to spend time in the computer lab and this is what I created with my "Love that" poem!

Celebrate

Saturday we headed to St. Louis for a quick visit to celebrate my grandma's birthday. We had a great time seeing everyone and it was so fun to surprise her with us coming!
This was by far the coolest cake. It was an oreo cookie ice cream cake, but the four ice cream cones on top were also edible with chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and mint. It was delicious!
