22 months and 33 weeks

22 months

Dear Evan,
I can't believe that in 2 months you will be 2. Time is sure flying by! You are getting more independent, definitely testing your boundaries, and learning something new every single day. We've bought a potty seat and so far it's just a toy to you. Hopefully in the next few months you won't want to keep ripping off the seat and playing with it. :) You are becoming a picky eater...no more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, noodles, or chicken. You will eat chicken nuggets occasionally but only if you have "dip". Yes, ketchup is definitely becoming a staple in our house to get you to eat anything. You still do love fruit and veggies, so that is a plus. Meat...not so much. Hopefully you'll grow out of this soon to get some meat on those skinny bones of yours! We took you to the doctor yesterday and found out that you have a sinus infection, tons of drainage, and definitely have allergies. You will be getting allergy tested in June, after you turn 2. Hopefully this will give us some answers. You are in love with Buzz and Woody still, which will be your birthday "theme" this year. You love looking and touching mommy's belly and saying "baby". Sometimes you even give it a kiss! :) You love to go for a "ride" and "walk". These are two common words that come out of your mouth all day long. It's hilarious to hear you call us "mom" and "dad" instead of mommy and daddy. You are sounding so grown up! You weigh 28 pounds, size 8 shoes, 2T pants which are still too big in the waist, and most of your shirts are 2T but some are 3T. You are a tall one! :) I am so excited to see you become a big brother. You are so special and mom and dad love you SO much.
Love,
mommy

33 weeks

Dear Baby,

I can't believe in about 6-7 weeks we will finally get to meet you. I am so sorry you don't have a name yet! Hopefully in the next couple of weeks your daddy and I can narrow it down. You love to kick and poke me at all hours of the night, which explains why sleep is hard to come by. For example, last night, I think I finally fell asleep after 11, after tossing and turning and not getting comfortable for hours. I'm hoping the bigger you and I get, the easier it will be, but knowing that is very unlikely! ;) You have also started to give me tons of heartburn, so I wonder if you will have a head of hair just like your brother. Your room is almost ready and this week we will be washing all of the newborn clothes to put in your dresser. The pack and play is getting cleaned soon and we have the perfect spot in our room for it. We are so excited to meet you! We love you...love, mommy, daddy, and your big brother, Evan

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
