One Last Test

Mike is finishing up his last test for MU police as I write this. He should be done around 11 pm tonight! Please pray that all goes well and he will become a police officer. :) In the meantime enjoy this pic of him and Jack being lazy....I guess that means if he gets it....since it starts March 4th, there will be no more lazy days! woohoo! ;)

Happy Birthday Effie!

Happy Birthday Effie! I hope you have a great day today! I miss ya!

Celebrations

On Saturday, I finished my report cards, which are due tomorrow. I still have the comments left, but since it is a teacher workday, I should be okay! Mike went over to his parents and helped them install a new toilet. It was pouring rain all day, so it wasn't the best day to really do anything. Our highlight was going out to Forge and Vine to celebrate Rachel's 30th birthday! There was about 20 of our friends there and it was great to be able to relax, talk, and have a good meal! Happy Birthday Rachel! We had a blast!

Friday Fun!

Friday was a busy day, but it was so fun! At school we celebrated Grandparents/Special Friend's Day at school. We had the whole afternoon for the kids to hang out with their grandparents. We did activities with them and they got to take them to our school book fair and most of them got to leave school 45 minutes early....so needless to say, my students had a great Friday and I had a great Friday because it was relaxing! I do feel bad for our asst. principal and K.P because they had to deal with grumpy older people and help them with parking. We have a small parking lot and usually when we have a big event at school, they are allowed to park on the soccer field, but since it has been so rainy, it was not a smart choice. They were outside all afternoon and I felt so bad! Hopefully next year, it won't be so bad! Friday night we had some good friends over to hang out and play games. Laura and Geoffrey, who live in town now, but it seems we never get to see them....our schedules are so busy! They have a little 1 year old daughter, Madalyn, and a new baby on the way, baby Emma! Anyway, here are some pictures from Friday! We had so much fun playing one of the new games we got for Christmas, Hubbub. I know the Morrisons would LOVE this game! ;) I hope everyone else had a great Friday!

Computer Issues.....

So we've been having LOTS of computer issues and internet problems....so we have decided to change internet companies and now our computer works! The cableguy/internet guy came today and I can FINALLY post! yeah! Since it has been awhile, I'll just give you our updates!
  • Mike got his medical release from the doctor on Monday for his shoulder and had his interview with MU on Tuesday and it went great! He has a contingency contract saying that if he passes the last 2 doctor tests, then he will start March 4th! wow! We are both really excited that he can start so soon!
  • I will be having knee surgery on March 23rd which is the Friday before spring break. I go to the orthopedic doctor on March 13th to hear what he has to say before actually deciding if I do need to go through with it....my other doctor thinks that I will have the surgery, so we have a date just in case. On Tuesday, I was stepping over a concrete parking thing and my knee popped really loud. I called the doctor because I was in a TON of pain. He said to get off of it and ice 3x day. Mike brought crutches up to school for me, so know I am officially a gimp. :(
  • Jack is a mudball! Since it has been beautiful the past 3 days, all the snow is melting and outside in our backyard is a mess! We are all so excited that it has been so warm and he can play outside ALL day instead of being cooped up inside!
  • Happy Belated Birthday to Heather and Erin! So sorry I couldn't post on Tuesday! I miss ya both!

Playing Blog Catch Up!

Yes, I know its been awhile since I've last wrote. Many things have been happening so sorry if this is a little jumbled! :) I hope things are going well for everyone and you have a great weekend!
  • We had another snow day last Tues. We got a little bit of freezing rain and 3-4 inches of snow, so school was cancelled again! Agh! That means our last day of school (if we don't get any more snow) is on June 6th. We came back to school on Wed. to celebrate V-day. My students had a great time in the afternoon during our party. We ate cupcakes (which they decorated) and then had a dance-off. It was hilarious! I'll put some pics at the end of all this rambling!

  • Mike and I had a great Valentines Day. We went to eat at Lonestar here in town and it was AMAZING! We had spicy spinach artichoke dip, steak and shrimp/crab legs. We got there early enough (5 pm). So we were seated right away and didn't have to wait at all. When we left about an hour later, the place was packed. I was so thankful that we didn't have to wait. We went home and Mike and I watched a movie and just relaxed. It was great! :)
  • I went back to the doctor on Friday for my knee. I did 2 weeks of physical therapy and it has not improved. I went back to the doctor and he said that even though how strange it sounds....There is a tear and we are going to do surgery. I go see an orthopedic surgeon next week and hopefully will have knee surgery right before spring break to give me a little bit longer to recover. In the meantime, he wants me to not do stairs, no quick turning or pivoting and to take it easy.

  • Jack has been SO bored lately with all this snow. I feel so bad for him! When he wants to go outside, he has started this new thing where he sits in front of the t.v. so we take him out. He is hilarious! It snowed AGAIN last night. We have another 4 inches or so. I am supposed to babysit K's kiddos, A and M, so hopefully I can get over there this afternoon without too much trouble. We have Monday off, so I have ALOT of catching up to do with cleaning, getting report cards finished, and just hanging out with Mike and Jack. I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Congrats Angela!

This weekend, I went to my cousin's baby shower in St. Louis. It was so fun to see family (my mom has 10 brothers and sisters!) and see 4 of my cousins who are pregnant and how much their little bellies have grown in such a short time since Christmas. Congrats Angela on Baby Landen! It was so fun to see everyone for Angela and Mike's 1st baby! Also, Kim we hope baby Lily makes it here soon!

100th Day

Today we celebrated the 100th day of school. A few of my fourth graders and I decided to dress up like we were 100 years old. It was hilarious to watch them today with their outfits, canes, and bent over walks. We did all sorts of activities today that had to do with the number 100. They had a blast! Here are a few pics from today.

100 days! Woohoo!

These were some Hallmark inspiration ideas that we have in our office. I love them because they make me smile! I had to throw in the last picture, in honor of today! Go COLTS!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! We are heading to our friend's house tonight to watch the game and cheer the Colts to victory but my favorite part is watching the commercials to see which one is the best! ha!

Whoa!

I can't believe it has been a whole week since I've posted. I am so sorry to my few readers! Ha! Things have been pretty crazy this week. I started physical therapy on my knee, so I've been in pain all week and complaining ALOT to Mike. Sorry honey! ;) Mike has been helping a friend paint his house and finishing up the applications and we've been watching Grey's Anatomy, 2nd season from Netflix. I am totally addicted! I am going to post some pics from our friend, Lisa's, 30th surprise birthday. We went out with them last Sat. and had a blast! She was completely surprised! We also went to watch Dave coach his junior high boys basketball team and Mike wanted Dave to get a technical foul....but Harold did instead! He said something to the ref like...what are you watching? and the ref gave him a technical! How crazy! If I was going to get a technical for that, I would have said something a lot worse! Enjoy the pics and I am hoping to write more this weekend....I've gotta go get ready for school, the kiddos will be here in 10 minutes! Happy Friday!
