O' Christmas Tree...

Finally, after 2 days, our tree is up! The first day I put the tree together and just put the lights on. Yesterday I finished with the garland and ornaments. We had to do a little bit of rearranging on our furniture in the living room, but I think it all turned out okay. I am so excited to put the wrapped presents under there! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!!

Black Friday

Who were the brave ones to get up this morning and go shopping??? If so, where did you go and what did you get?? Certainly not me....but someone in this house did! Can you believe my hubby got up to go to a hardware store to get one of those folding ladders, a new drill, and a couple of sawhorses. Wow! I was impressed that he got up and went and then came back to make me breakfast. awww... Happy Black Friday everyone!

13 week picture

Yep...there's a bump! :)

100

I can't believe that I have been pregnant for 100 days!! Time is flying by! Mike worked so hard these past 2 days off. He moved our office downstairs and rearranged the entire downstairs living space to clear out the new baby room upstairs. It looks so great! I'll have to take some pictures and post them.

I also need your advice, so help me out! Since we are not finding out if this is a boy or a girl, looking at bedding has been a little difficult. I do not want green or yellow. ;) So...I found one set that I *think* could go for a boy or a girl, but want your input. Here is a link to see more...

Happy Thanksgiving Break!!!!

14 weeks

Your pregnancy: 14 weeks

How your baby's growing:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

not the best...

I thought this was going to be a good weekend...turns out only Friday was. I met up with Heather and Hollie for our book club chat. I got the pick out the next book which is The Pact by Jodi Picoult. I love this book, so I wanted the excuse to read it again! :) We went back to Heather's afterward and talked and caught up since it has been so long since we've seen them. I was planning on going back over most of the day Saturday to hang out, but it turns out that it was not the case. I woke up Saturday nauseous and could not keep anything down. My mom and I were going to do a little bit of Christmas shopping and then I was going to head over to Heather's house in the afternoon. I never made it. I was in bed all.day.long. and if I wasn't there I was in the bathroom. Definitely not my idea of a fun weekend. Saturday I watched Juno, We are Marshall, National Treasure 2, Evan Almighty, Dan in Real Life, and Father of the Bride 2. I was hoping this morning (all day) sickness would be over by now. Tomorrow I am 14 weeks and I want it to end! Sunday I was hoping to go meet up with my friend Krista for breakfast and then head out of town, hoping to stop at the Morrison's then too. Well, I woke up this morning, again, not being able to keep anything down. My mom thankfully packed up with car, with my stuff and all of Jack's stuff. She put plastic bags in the car in case I got sick on the way home. Thankfully I didn't, but I had a couple of close calls. This was supposed to be a fun weekend with friends! Mike was going to come into town on Saturday to hang out with Ryan, but since he worked 28 hours out of 32 hours (stalking case), he was exhausted. Hopefully I will start to feel better soon so I can hang out with my friends...I miss them! Thanks for taking care of me this weekend Mom!

TGIF

I am so glad tomorrow is Friday. I am excited for the holiday break coming up and for a chance to actually relax. Tomorrow I am heading to St. Louis to catch up with Heather and some other bloggers for our monthly book chat. I am really excited to meet everyone! Mike is going to head on over on Sat. so we can hang out with the Morrison's and Malone's. It's been WAY too long since we've seen them. I am trying to finish my 5 page paper tonight that is due on Sat. and so glad that we have off this Sat. and next Sat. for class. Yes! Hope you have great plans for the weekend too!

Great weekend...

I still feel like I am playing catch up with a lot of things and since I am still not feeling great, it makes it all the more diffcult to get things done. We did have a great weekend up in Indy celebrating Maddy's 7th birthday. It was so great to see them since it had been awhile. Mallory was so inquisitive about the baby and kept asking if it was growing right now...and then a minute or so later would ask, is it bigger now? It was SO cute! :) We had a great time just hanging out and playing Wii and just having a good time catching up! Here are some pictures from Maddy's celebration. Thank you to Amanda for her camera! I can't believe I forgot mine....

13 weeks

Your pregnancy: 13 weeks

How your baby's growing:Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

Happy 7th Birthday Madison!

12 week pictures

I can't believe it has been 12 weeks! wow! The baby is looking good... 2 inches long, 165 beats per minute. It was very squirmy today and it was such a blessing to be able to see it again and hear the heartbeat. Mike and I were so happy today seeing him/her again! I've lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks, so the doctor (and me) hope that the morning sickness starts to go away soon!

Doctor Visit...

Things with the baby look good today. I am 12 weeks 2 days and our little bug is 2 inches long! :) It had a strong heartbeat at 165 beats per minute. It was very squirmy in there! I've had a cold for the last 2 days and haven't been able to keep anything down so I knew my weight might be down a little, but after I got weighed today I wasn't expecting that I lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks. Geez...The doctor said that's normal, especially for someone who has been sick all.day.long. The medicine seems to be working but not all the time. I'm hoping I can get over this cold, which I think it is starting to because I feel way better today than I did yesterday. I have some pictures to post and I'll try to upload the video, but I'm way to tired and lazy right now to go back and scan the picture on the printer. I will hopefully get to it before bed!

12 weeks

12 weeks

How your baby's growing:The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Great weekend...

My mom came into town this weekend and we had a great time! It was so fun to just be able to hang out and not have to worry about anything. Friday she got into town just as I was getting out of school so we hung out at the house for awhile, unloaded her car and brought all the goodies inside. We went over to Kyle and Melanie's house to see baby Marek and then we headed off to one of the teacher's houses from my school. She was having a happy hour/jewelry party so we hung out there for a little bit and each bought a new pair of earrings. We met Mike for dinner at Chevy's and had a yummy dinner. Saturday I had to go to class, so she did some of her work while Mike and Dave (who came over) played games. After I got home from class we drove by the stadium because it was MU's last home game. It was freezing and I couldn't believe there were so many people out tailgating. I felt bad for Mike who had to work the game because I couldn't imagine standing outside for such a long time. My mom and I went to Old Navy, they had a great sale going on. I got a new winter coat on sale for 50% off, so it was only $45! I also got this pair of maternity jeans and this pair. One for now and one for later...After we left there, we met Mike's mom for dinner at Applebee's. It was delicious! I got a grilled cheese and french onion soup....perfect for such a cold, windy day. All 3 of us then went to Macy's to get some Christmas gifts for Mike. We then went to Target so I could get Madison's birthday gift (we are headed up there this weekend) and I got a a pair of maternity black work pants and a sweater. After that, I was exhausted! :) So...we dropped Lynne off at her car and went home. I got home, changed into PJ's and went to bed. We had a great time shopping and I crossed a few more things off my list. I hope to be done with Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving! My mom left this morning and it was so fun to have her here. I already miss her, but the good news is I'll see her in two weeks and then for Thanksgiving! Hope you had a great weekend!

Cravings...

I can't believe I am under 200 days to go! Wow! I am very interested to hear what everyone craved when they were/are pregnant! Lately my cravings seem to change almost weekly. Here are just a few things that I've craved...

  • cheeseburgers
  • Wendy's chicken sandwiches, plain
  • Peanut butter and jelly uncrustables
  • granola bars, chocolate chips
  • Pickles and ice cream (this craving was only once....so far!)
  • mashed potatoes and gravy
  • macaroni and cheese

What have you craved? What was the weirdest thing you've craved? One of my friends craved scrambled eggs with cut up hot dogs in it....yuck!!! Let's hear it....
