Question for you....

Alright folks, I need some of your great advice, so if you could let me know what you did or how you went about this information, we would greatly appreciate it! My question is how many of you have a will for your family and how did you go about choosing the person(s) who would care for your child in case you and your spouse passed away? Mike and I need to be thinking about this obviously with Evan here, but are having a hard time with the decision making process, so we would love your input. If you do not have a will, why not? Are you stuck like we are? I know this is a pretty heavy topic for this wonderful Friday morning, but I'm just curious! Thank you!!!! Isn't he just simply irresistible?

I think you should leave Evan to us. ;) He and Charlie can share wardrobes...

We don't have one yet, but need to do it as well (we did get life insurance after he was born). It's a hard call!

We don't have a will but I know it's something we should have. I guess no one wants to think about their own mortality so that's why it gets put off. Also, it's hard to decide who you would want your child to be with as situations change with people all the time.

We do have a will. We went off the person who would raise our son in a strong Christian home and be able to provide the same things we could. Both are parents live in the same hometown. Both my parents and his have shared rights, with Thomas living with Dustin's parents.

We don't have one and I've often thougth that we should. I did hear a little thing about this on NPR recently and the moms that were interviewed said that they chose people that they knew would raise their children the way they would. It's a scary thing to think about, but definitely important.

we have one. :) we chose my parents. my friend happens to be a lawyer and she helped us with our will, she said generally most people our age will choose their parents, and then when they get a little older will often change it to be siblings, close friends, etc. my reasoning behind this is that right now my parents are still young enough to raise max and have the means to, while our sisters/close friends are still starting their own families, and no matter how much they love max, i would want them to have that opportunity without the huge responsibility of raising my child as well. as we get older (and my parents get older), then it would seem a more natural choice to choose someone our age. hope that makes sense. :)

i can't believe how big your little guy is getting!
