TFT?

Wow! I haven't posted a thought for Thursday in a long time.
  • Since I have changed over to Google Reader I was curious about "googling myself" to see what type of information came up. I first typed in Kasey Laughlin to see what came up and a comment I left on Katie Mohr's blog came up. I scrolled down a little further and notice our blog....good! It was very nice that they noticed. :) There was also some information about an Envirofacts Warehouse, another boy athlete that has the same name, and a bunch of other stuff that wasn't about "me." So, then I decided to google my maiden name (Merritt) to see what came up and my facebook information , JB Marine, my soccer team that I was on growing up, and Florida International Univ. soccer stats came up. It's pretty interesting and funny at the same time to see what information comes up about you!
  • So my thought for Thursday is this....Have you ever googled yourself? If so, please comment and tell me 3 things that were on there. If not, try it now. Go google yourself and come back and tell me what came up!
  • Have you ever googled someone else? A friend, sibling, ex, family member, a neighbor? Come up...you know you want to share!!!!!!!!

What a fun TFT! When I googled my name, the first 3 things that came up were results from 3 runs I did - 4th of July 5K, Pumpkin Fest 10K, and Special Olympics/Clayton Police 5K. Then my blog was next along with a couple of comments I have made or others have made mention of me.
When I googled my maiden name (Leitch) - nothing came up about me, but there must be another Heather Leitch.
I really don't think I have googled anyone else before - I may now, though - it was kind of fun.

I've googled my maiden name before (Kohler) and found cross country meet times from 9th grade at an opposing school's website! Crazy! Ill have to try my married name. If I get something weird, I'll be back to comment!

It is seriously sooo funny that you wrote on this today...
I was just thinking about other people's questions on how easy is it to find a blog if you'd be searching for it... so I googled my name... and yours!! And a couple other bloggers/friends to see how quickly I could find their blogs if I didn't know it.
My name brought up nothing about me... apparently there's a writer or poet or someone with my name, so that's what google was full of.
I do randomly search for people sometimes if I've wondered about someone who I can't find on myspace or facebook. I'm fascinated by people watching and that runs over into people I know/have known in the past and trying to find them online or what they've been up to, where they're at, etc.
What a fun thought for thursday!!

There's nothing exciting for my name... some blog links, a few forums I've posted on for work stuff, and then there's a post by LeeAnn about going to Chicago! :)
For my maiden name (Fenstad), there's actually a couple pages from college that come up... apparently they still use a website I made back in 2005... LOL. :)

I've googled my name before and there used to be a lot of soccer and other stuff that would pop up. This time all I found was Michael laughlin the director, screenwriter, and producer. I tried Michael J. Laughlin and got info. on a doctor that works for the Mayo clinic and someone that was a respondent in a trial with the SEC. I tried Michael Laughlin, soccer and finally found myself as an assitant coach at Greenville for 1 year...also found my brother Dan, who's career assitant coaching record is very good...this was fun.

i type in my name (cook) and it comes back with some realty chick, a catering chick, an artist...and nothing about me. i have never put my first and last name together on my blog i don't think so it doesn't come back as a result. :)

i put in my last name (goutermont) and it comes back with a link to my page on our class website, a notification of a scholorship i got, and contact information for when i worked in the sheriff's office. looks like that should get changed. :)

interesting!

the only relevent thing that comes up on google for me is the first one, and it's my LinkedIn page. otherwise it has nothing to do with me. although i have only been married for not even two years. i have googled former classmates, high school and college, and long lost relatives. i'm a google nut!

I got nothing on me using my married name. I got one hit on my maiden name which linked to my brother in laws blog. I'm not too fearful of people finding me on google!

I found out that I am a Materials Science and Engineering Professor, a General Practice Physician, and a writer who has published 16 essays. SWEET!
