My little sister got married! Congrats to Kelli and Kris on their 1 year anniversary!!!
Here is the matron of honor speech I wrote for them....it still brings tears to my eyes! :)
Love you guys!
To my little sister on her wedding day.
Kelli has always been my best friend and obviously you want only the best for your friends. And in Kris, I am delighted to say, she has found it. How do I know that? Well, we shared the same home; the same experiences and we shared our dreams. Today I know is a dream come true for Kelli. I, for one, am thrilled for her because nobody deserves her happiness more. Today is the first day of her married life and I cannot help remembering our childhood and the games we played together. I am thinking of our first dolls and playing house, our bikes and playing school with our brother, who we labeled as the bad student of our class. Sorry about that Brad! I am thinking of our family soccer trips, getting mad over who was wearing whose clothes and giggling all night until Dad told us to be quiet! Today I am thinking of my sweet, kind, little sister who has always been there for me when I needed her. That is not to say that she was always sweet and kind. There were times that we disagreed. There were times when we argued. But during those times, I was never sorry she was my sister. Although, I do have to admit, there were probably plenty of times when she was embarrassed by me. But looking back…we were two sisters who shared both good times and bad times, loved our family, and each other. I am delighted that Kelli has found in Kris, someone who needs her as much as she needs him. Kris is a wonderful generous guy and will make a very special brother-in-law as well as a husband towards Kelli. He too has a warm and welcoming family and I am so glad that family occasions in the future will be even bigger and better. What do I wish for my sister on her wedding day? I wish that she and Kris would always love each other as much as they do today. I wish that their home would be a warm and welcoming one. I wish that she and Kris would always be best friends as well as husband and wife. I wish they will always trust and care and be there for each other. I know these will come true because I always get what I wish for…Kelli can attest to that. So here's to my little sister and her groom. I hope that in the years to come we celebrate their anniversaries, if not in the same style, at least with the same enthusiasm and love that is in this room. May God bless you both today and always. Here’s to the bride and groom. Cheers!
