splash pad

Another one of our summer activities was the splash pad here in town. Evan hasn't been a fan of sprinklers but it's summer...it's hot, and we don't want him to be afraid. So...we headed there after our bike ride the other night. He was a little timid at first but he did great with them and by the end wasn't afraid of the little fountains at all. :) The big ones...well, let's just say he wasn't a fan.

Pointing to the big fountains....so Mike decided to take him over to see if he'd play in them...

Nope! Not so much :)

Definitely was happy with the little ones

Enjoying the summer and can't believe that it is already July 4th weekend coming up!

A lately

Alex is growing SO fast! I have already had to put away his 0-3 month clothes. It makes me so sad at how fast the time is flying by. He's become a much better sleeper lately (unless he gets over tired) and usually goes down around 9:30-10 pm and wakes up around 2 am, 5:30 and then around 7:30 am. Alex is still sleeping in his car seat and bassinet. He doesn't really like to lay flat all that much. I know it will get easier and he won't be in that car seat forever :) He is getting stronger with his holding his neck up and is practicing the moves to roll over. I bet it will still be awhile until he rolls over, but he's getting there. He is starting to "talk" more and loves noise to pay attention to as well as needing the noise to sleep! Thank goodness Evan helps in that department. :) I can't believe Alex is already 6 weeks old! Enjoy some recent pics and video!

E lately...

just wanted to share a few funny videos of Evan lately. This age is hilarious! He also thinks his name is "You". For instance, if we are praying at night, he says, momma, dada, baby, you, and jack. :) I guess it doesn't help when we give him choices, we used to say "Do you want oranges or grapes?" "Do you want to play with your cars or your trucks." or "Do you want to read this book or that one?" It's pretty cute when he says it...but we've definitely started saying "Does Evan" now...Need to make sure he knows his name! ha! Enjoy the videos...he is always making us laugh. :)

summer bucket list

We decided to make our summer "to do" or bucket list. It's not anything extravagant...just some ideas and activities that Mike and I want to do with Evan and Alex. We want to be intentional about our first summer as a family of four and are going to try and complete all of the activities together.

First on the list was a bike ride...While Mike and Evan went around the park, Alex and I got our exercise in by walking. :) Can't wait until Alex is old enough and they can both fit in the trailer.

New York...day 4

Our last day :(
Had a lazy morning....my mom and I decided to walk down to where they tape The Today Show. We walked in and just hung out and watched the different people for about 15 minutes. It was almost 9 am and one of the workers said, Matt, Anne, and Al would be out shortly. So we stayed to at least get a glimpse of them.

The funny part was there were 4 ladies in front of us and when Matt, Anne, and Al went down to the other end, they decided to follow them down there to try and get on tv. My mom and I stayed where we were and Al came walking down the aisle, shaking hands, and saying hello. Anne was across the way and Matt was somewhere else saying hello. It was very cool how much they interacted with the audience.

All of a sudden, Al stopped, the camera guys and the tv was wheeled up and Al just started talking and doing the weather! It was crazy. I didn't think he would talk to us, but I guess having a 6 week old cute baby draws anyone in! ;) Yes, I definitely used Alex for bait to get on tv!

Here's the video...you'll probably have to turn up your volume. Thanks to my Aunt PJ for taping it for us! I'm just bummed the camera guys didn't get my mom on there too!

 Definitely a cool experience!

After that, we headed back to the hotel, packed up and just relaxed before heading to the airport.

Bye NYC! Till next time :)

There was an airplane traffic jam...

I'm just glad that this was NOT an accident and was not at our airport. And I was definitely glad to get home to see this little guy and my big guy! :) I missed them...

New York...day 3

Day 3...Sunday morning was gorgeous. We headed to Central Park and had a great time seeing all of the different people relaxing in the grass, drinking coffee that morning. Lots of people were reading, sunbathing, and just sitting in the grass watching others walk by. It was definitely very peaceful. Once we got into the park where you couldn't see any buildings (or hardly any buildings) or hear any of the car horns, it was so quiet and felt like you were in the countryside. Definitely a great place to be!

Love that there is a carnival/fair inside the park too!

Took in an afternoon softball game...

Walked down "the mall"

Where a part of Enchanted was filmed!  "How do you know that she loves you?!" Anyone else remember that part? ;)

Watched this man scare this little boy when he put money in his bag...not on purpose, but definitely made the kid jump!

That evening we went to Rockefeller Center and went to the "top of the Rock" It was such an unbelievable view. You could see everything!

Do you see Times Square in the below picture??? It's almost right in the middle of the picture...

See how little it looks?!

But when you are down there, it looks huge!

With Matthew and Uncle Mark :)

beautiful sunset...
