Short lived sickness...

Last night was a first for us and one I hope we don't have to relive anytime soon. Evan apparently had some sort of short lived flu bug or an upset stomach. After putting him to bed, about an hour later we could hear him coughing and then crying...which is unusual for our 12-13 hour sleeper. I went in to check on him and saw our scared, crying little boy who had puked all over...it was all over his bed, his pajamas, himself, and all over his hair. He was crying and pointing at it, saying no. It was so sad and he was so confused and scared. I called Mike in and we stripped him down, put him in the bathtub and Mike went to change the sheets, start the laundry, etc. Evan kept throwing up (thankfully it was bile after the 1st episode) every 15-20 minutes and we tried to keep him up to make sure it was all out. He got good at the end with holding onto the bucket. After 2 episodes of Sesame Street, 30-45 minutes of not throwing up, we put him to bed and he was fine the rest of the night. Today he was pretty good...no throwing up, he did eat a piece of toast, had some pedialyte off and on all day, and a grilled cheese for dinner.  It's so hard to watch your child sick and upset and confused and not really understanding what is going on. Hopefully this was a one time thing and he'll be even better tomorrow.

So sorry he was sick. I honestly think puking kids are one of the worst things for a parent :( Bailey had a quick stomach bug a few weeks ago and then Taylor threw up last week so it's all too familiar around here. Totally, completely sucks.
