New Year's Eve
Today is our 19 week 2 day mark. And of course it New Year's Eve. I still can't believe the past few months and how fast they have gone by! This little baby growing bigger each day and today marks the real first time I've had a concern and had to call my doctor. Last night I woke up with BAD back cramps. I didn't think anything of it and tried to get comfortable as best I could. I had the cramps on and off all day but they got worse this afternoon. It didn't feel like my normal back pain (that is lower) and this was in the middle of my back. Mike and I decided to call my doctor to see what was going on or to see if I was overreacting being a first time new pregnant person! He said that since it was about 6-7 cramps per hour, to do two things. One...rest and drink lots of water and if it doesn't get better head on in to the hospital to get checked out or two...head on in to the hospital to check and see what was going on. He said it seems like I was having some contractions and if they continued to head on in. It's been about an hour and a half and I've had 2, so I'll continue resting for now to see if that helps.
I can't wait to see what this new year will bring for us...we are so blessed and our little one will be here before we know it!!!!

19 weeks
Your pregnancy: 19 weeks
How your baby's growing:
Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Our Christmas Present
I want to remember this so I better write it down! It seems lately my mind can't remember anything...On Christmas day Mike and I were headed back to Columbia because he had to work on the 26th. We were almost home and I was singing Christmas songs in the car. I felt something flutter, which felt like butterflies! I told Mike I think I just felt the baby move...as soon as I said that, I felt it again! It was SO exciting. It is such a great feeling to be able to feel this little baby moving around inside me and it was definitely a great Christmas present!

Christmas
Hope your Christmas was as great as ours! We had a blast opening presents, eating, and just being around family. The hit was learning how to play RockBand. It was hilarious! Merry Christmas!!!! Let's continue to remember the real reason of the season! Happy Birthday Jesus!
